Taking attendance is an important part of class. It usually happens right at the beginning of class. 

點名是課堂中一個重要的部分，通常發生在課堂一開始。

The teacher calls the names of all the students. 老師會叫所有學生的名字。

When the teacher calls a student’s name, the student has to respond to let the teacher know they’re present.  

當老師叫到某個學生的名字時，該學生需要回答，讓老師知道他在場。

Then the teacher will write on the attendance sheet to mark the student as present.  

然後老師會在出勤表上記錄該學生已到。

If the student isn’t in class, the teacher will mark the student as absent. 

如果該學生沒有到課，老師則會標記該學生缺席。
